Project Hope Worldwide is a non-profit organization that is seeking to improve the lives of orphans and widows nationwide. Their current focus is building a village in Lira, Uganda for orphans and widows. The village, called "
Calo Me Lare" or "Village of Redemption", will consist of “2 circles” with each circle comprising of 8 homes. (You can see a model of the children's homes
here.) Each home will be a family unit of 8 children and a house mother, who is a widow from the community. In addition to attending school, the children will be mentored in financial management, vocational training, farming and agriculture, and character development. Those showing aptitude for continuing education will be provided an opportunity to attend a university.
